Inside the rotogravure printing hall

Rotogravure printing is where a packaging design becomes a physical product. Our printing hall runs multi-station gravure presses with computerised registration control, holding print repeat within tight tolerance across the whole run.

Each press is driven from a console where operators monitor colour density, register, drying temperature and web tension in real time. Colour is checked against an approved proof at start-up and then sampled at intervals through the run.

Because the ink and solvent system is controlled and the drying tunnels are properly balanced, residual solvent stays within food-contact limits — a critical requirement for the food-grade work that makes up most of our output.
